Lahore, October 01, 2015. Pakistan's largest transport company, Daewoo Pakistan Express Bus Service Ltd, in collaboration with Defence Housing Authority, Lahore, has initiated a historic project of setting up international standard transport facilities and other amenities for residents of DHA and surrounding areas. The project comprises of 3 distinct facilities: (1) Inter-city express bus service operating directly to and from DHA Lahore; (2) DHA local bus service running within DHA and touching its periphery; and (3) Construction of a state-of-the-art Bus Terminal-cum-Shopping Mall in DHA Phase-5.
The first part of the historic project was inaugurated on 22nd September 2015 with the start of bus operations from Daewoo's 2nd Terminal in Lahore (DHA Phase-5). In an impressive inauguration ceremony in DHA Lahore, the Chief Guest, Lt Gen Naweed Zaman, HI (M), President DHA Lahore & Commander 4 Corps, praised the managements of both Daewoo Express and DHA Lahore, for their tireless efforts to transform a commendable idea into reality. The Guest of Honor, His Excellency Dr. Jong Hwan Song, the Ambassador of Republic of Korea, while addressing the gathering, stressed the need for developing transport infrastructure and appreciated the initiative jointly taken by Daewoo Express & DHA on these lines.
Daewoo's 2nd bus terminal in DHA Phase-5 has connected DHA Lahore with major cities through direct bus departures to and from DHA. Another segment of this project will be the DHA local bus service which is expected to start operations around 15th October.
